NOTE: This will be a weekday rally; dates are correct!
Due to their convenient location to St. Augustine and nestled between the ocean on one end of the campground and the river on the other end, this resort charges a minimum of $50 per night.  They have agreed to take up to 25 RVW reservations at a rate of $35 for the four week nights (Monday-Thursday), hoping some will come early or stay late and pay their regular rates for the weekends. These will be full hook-up sites (30 or 50 amp); they also have a few cabins on the property, but pets are not permitted in the cabins. There is a fishing pier on the river side and two restaurants, essentially on site. In lieu of a potluck, we will arrange an event with one of the restaurants. Call Debbie at the park for rally reservations; she is there Tues-Thurs. Contact Arlene Dawson at (386) 214-0719 or arlenedawson@bellsouth.net for questions or to advise of reservation.

NOVEMBER 2010 - November 4 to 7th, 2010                                                        Location: Seasons in the Sun in Mims. We've changed the dates to resolve a conflict with the clubhouse use. Lou Bee and Ali Bowers will be the hosts. Please book your site with Seasons In The Sun at 321/385-0440.  The rally rate is $29.50 plus tax per night. We are going to have an Italian theme with a catered dinner on Saturday night. NO potluck. There will be a charge of $12.00 per person to partake in the meat OR cheese lasagna, green salad, garlic and plain bread, and cake for dessert.  There will also be a red wine punch and a non-alcoholic punch. If anyone chooses not to partake, you are welcome to bring your own food and eat with us. Catering will be furnished by Heavenly Delights, AKA Arlene Berger of the NE chapter.  The rally starts on Thursday, Nov. 4 with a happy hour at 5:00.  Please bring a heavy snack to share. On Friday, we will play bocce ball, shuffleboard, billiards, or in the pool.   At 4:00 there will be a happy
hour with light snacks to share so those who wish may go out for dinner. Dixie Crossroads is a favorite restaurant for seafood. There is a good BBQ close by as well.   Saturday morning is open for relaxing. At 1:30 we will have an ice cream social and at 2:00 will be the annual meeting.  Sunday morning, your hosts will bring a treat to prepare you for hitching up and heading out.   There will be other surprises and treats during the rally. We look forward to seeing you there.
If anybody arrives in the area early, we plan to be at Manatee Hammock in Bellwood Nov.1-3.  It is a Brevard county park with a Passport America rate of $15.00 plus tax.  You are welcome to join us.

Location: Geiger Key RV Park in the Florida Keys. There are photos and great info on their website. This is a Passport Park and they will be letting us use our discount which is HUGE in the keys.
We'll be only ten miles (ten minutes) from downtown Key West. BRING YOUR PASSPORT AMERICA CARD WITH YOU! Rally leader: Lynette Birch. The phone number at Geiger Key is 305-296-3553. Activities so far: Monroe county's K-9 unit will come out to give a demonstration with their German Shepherds. And maybe a self defense program for us, too.  On the light side, of course. A trip to the Dry Tortugas planned.  I won't ask anybody to call ahead. Two years in a row, canceled, is enough. I don't like getting our hopes up and then canceled. If the weather permits and cooperates while we're there, one morning when we wake up I'll say:  "Anybody want to go to The Tortugas today"?  We'll play that particular activity by ear. Another sunset sail will be scheduled on The Jolly Rover. Everybody really enjoyed that. It was a nice sunset sail.  A tour of a Navy ship is planned. A N D .......A Deep  Sea  Fishing  Trip is already reserved!  The price on that is  $500.00 for a half day for four people!  I know it sounds like a lot of bucks, but, there already are six gals that are absolutely positive committed to going.  The captain can take four on his boat, which means.....  $125.00 per person. Guaranteed to bring lots of fish back for Mary Bowman's fish fry!  She already volunteered for that, another one of our activities planned. The Captain said that he'll make two half day trips for us so all who want to go fishing can go. Sunday is the Smokehouse barbecue. Awesome barbecue with lots of food!  The  "Coconut  Races "  will take place next year when the winds aren't so prevalent. Most of us never unloaded our kayaks! It was so windy. That's it for now!
